Frequently Asked Questions
1. I'm ready to schedule PT. What do I do?
Use the contact form, text/call, or email directly to schedule your first visit, your PT evaluation.
2. Do I need a referral for Physical Therapy?
North Carolina is a Direct Access state, meaning that no physician referral is required to seek the care of a physical therapist. You have the ability to choose the physical therapist you want to see and can do so without a referral. We are happy, however, to collaborate with your physician and other healthcare providers at your request.
3. How do you take payment?
Credit and debit cards, HSA/FSA cards or Venmo are acceptable forms of payment. Payment is required at the time of service. As we open our brick and mortar clinic in the next couple of months, we will update pricing.
4. Do you take my insurance?
We are an out of network (OON) provider, meaning we have no contract with any insurance company. Payment is required at the time of service. If you have OON coverage in your insurance plan, we can provide you with a super bill that will have the information required for you to submit to insurance for possible reimbursement. Too often insurance companies dictate what is allowed or required in PT treatment, which can greatly reduce the quality of care. We believe your treatment should be a collaboration between you and your therapist, not your insurance company.
5. I'm a gymnast. How does this work?
Gymnasts from Sonshine Gymnastics should email/text/call to schedule your appointments.
