Frequently Asked Questions

  1. I'm ready to schedule PT.   What do I do?

Use the contact form, text/call, or email directly to schedule a free consultation over the phone.  We will schedule your evaluation from there.

  2. Do I need a referral for Physical Therapy?

North Carolina is a Direct Access state, meaning that no physician referral is required to seek the care of a physical therapist. You have the ability to choose the physical therapist you want to see and can do so without a referral. We are happy, however, to collaborate with your physician and other healthcare providers at your request.

  3. How much do you charge?

Your first session with be a PT evaluation.  This will take 50-55 minutes and cost $120.  After this appointment, we will discuss your treatment plan.  Follow up sessions are 45 minutes and cost $100.  In some circumstances, we may decide to do shorter sessions of 30 minutes which would cost $65.  In addition to a thorough evaluation and assessment, you will also be provided education and instruction for a home program. Cash, credit and debit cards or HSA/FSA cards are acceptable forms of payment. Payment is required at the time of service

  4.  Do you take my insurance?

We are an out of network (OON) provider, meaning we have no contract with any insurance company. Payment is required at the time of service. If you have OON coverage in your insurance plan, we can provide you with a super bill that will have the information required for you to submit to insurance for reimbursement. Too often insurance companies dictate what is allowed or required in PT treatment, which can greatly reduce the quality of care. We believe your treatment should be a collaboration between you and your therapist, not your insurance company.

   5.  I'm a gymnast.  How does this work?

Gymnasts from Sonshine Gymnasts should email/text/call to schedule your appointments.
